The anticipation of the 2021 Michelin Awards had left the industry frantically guessing and wondering what it had in store, after such a turbulent year.
In January 2020, Muse became the destination for Tom Aikens’ eagerly awaited return to fine dining, which has been received with tremendous critical acclaim. Little did we know that we would have to close just over 2 months later due to COVID-19 sealing restaurant kitchens globally. In September, we were permitted to re-open our doors once again and our entire team was both excited and determined to lead Muse forward into more positive times. After working hard to launch Muse twice in one year, it was an incredible achievement for us to be awarded with 4 AA Rosettes in October 2020. However, after being forced to close again in early November, then also in mid-December, it left us wondering if we had been graced with enough time and opportunity to have made the cut with Michelin…. but moving forward to 25th January 2021 and WE DID IT!
Tom Aikens and the team at Muse are thrilled to be awarded its first Michelin star which they have received with a huge amount of pride and honour. Our incredible team of chefs can’t wait to step back into the kitchen to create and present the most sensational tasting menus once again. Our front of house team is also eager, ready and waiting to welcome you back to the humble cobbles of Groom Place, into our stunning mews townhouse, a culinary home-away-from-home. We can assure you; Muse is gearing up in preparation for its return to this amazingly resilient industry.
“What an unimaginable and challenging year we have all had, but every cloud has a silver lining, thank you Michelin! Despite the current circumstances, we sincerely hope and believe that we will all be able to get back to doing what we love soon, as our journey has only just begun and we have a lot more in store for you all… ” Tom Aikens
