In September 2015 I opened my first restaurant in the Middle East – Pots, Pans & Boards in collaboration with my business partners Meeras.
This is a sharing concept for families, large groups of people, for people with busy lives or those that are just wanting to watch the world go by. The name is reference to the way the food is served in a pot pan or board, making it very versatile for the ever-busy Dubai crowd. Dubai’s food scene is incredibly exciting with many great international chefs opening restaurants here.
The location is on Jumeirah beach road, opposite to the Jumeirah Beach Residence. Pots, Pans and Boards is an idea based on my own earlier memories from my childhood, sitting at our large kitchen table with my family and brothers, eating straight from the pot or pan, everyone sharing their food with each other and just very casually enjoying the moment of great food amongst friends and family. As a result, the idea of the name of the restaurant was born from what I truly love about food: it can be delicious and amazing served family-style in pots, pans and on boards.
The menu includes British classics as well as dishes with a French & Mediterranean influence. The food is very personal, with a strong identity, and it’s continually evolving. Pots Pans & Boards is buzzy and friendly, informed yet informal. The perfect environment to relax – a home away from home, where you feel completely at ease, a place to have fun and above all enjoy the pleasures of eating with family and friends. The restaurant is made to look alike a home kitchen decorated loosely with pots & pans, hanging in collections on the walls and decorated with other kitchen Knick Knacks, with a large dry store in the middle of the restaurant with chefs coming into the restaurant to get ingredients for the many dishes from the menu.
